Pathways to integration and interoperability
Several important mass transit projects developing in HCMC, Hanoi and Danang, for urban metros, extended BRT/bus systems as well as toll roads, are currently set to deploy different electronic ticketing systems without integration of transport payments or interoperability between transport modes. In the world’s fastest developing region, this is not the first occurrence of this scenario. This session aims to explore options for solving the problem of ongoing public transport projects in Vietnam [or any market] that plan to deploy different payment solutions.

Eric Turner is a Transport Analyst with the World Bank’s Transport and Digital Development Global Practice based in Singapore. Eric focuses on urban transport systems and mass transit, including urban rail and bus operations. His current projects include urban rail systems in China, bus networks in Vietnam, and urban transport in Sri Lanka. He previously worked at MTA New York City Transit, North America’s largest public transport provider, in the Office of Management and Budget before moving to the agency’s Global Benchmarking and Best Practice group.

Mr Hiroshi Anzo is a Senior Project Formulation Advisor of JICA Vietnam Office in Hanoi, responsible for overseeing projects related to bus transport and smart card transport payment system. He is in charge of the ongoing initiative titled "the Project for Supporting Development of Interoperable Smart Card System for Public Transportation in Hanoi" being implemented with the Department of Transportation of Hanoi People's Committee.

She built up Bank SinoPac’s E-Banking Division in 2010, leading the bank to become the pioneer among its peers in its digital development, including the award winning third party payment FunCashier, mobile banking app, corporate banking and ATM solution, and innovative eco-banking solution tailored to specific business models and sectors.
